Getting Organized For Fall

With Autumn right around the corner, we have put together some pointers to help you get ready for the always crazy holiday season.

Tips for fall preparedness:

Sort through your closet! Are there any pieces that you haven’t worn in a few seasons or years? Get rid of everything overcrowding your closet. This way you will have room for any new cozy sweaters or must-have holiday outfits. Put away the tank tops and sun dresses until next year & break out your seasonal favorites. If where you live is anything like sunny southern California, it’s just a matter of changing out your bright and cool colored clothes to a warmer, more neutral wardrobe. A great way to keep your closet tidy is to buy organizing boxes for small bags, hats, gloves, scarves etc. Put them in a place that is easy to access right when you need them.

The end of the year always comes with deadlines, busy schedules, and lots of crafting. Organize your workspace to get ready for the crazy holiday season. It’s time to address the infamous junk drawer. We all have one, filled with knick knacks and stuff we don’t know what else to do with. Start by getting rid of old pencils, pens and dried up markers. Next just throw away all that random junk that you swear you’ll need one day but haven’t used since 2012 when you got it. By having all that useless stuff gone and turning your junk drawer into a civilized drawer, you will create peace of mind and be ready to tackle everything else that will be thrown at you this season. The next way to organize your workspace is to file all of your documents up until this point. You’ve been putting it off, and the papers just keep piling up. I know, I know, not the most exciting task, but doing this will make tax season so much easier. Once that part is over with reward yourself! Purchase that software or craft tool you’ve been eyeing. You deserve it.

Now that you’ve got your closet and workspace dialed in, it’s time to move to the rest of the house. Dust and clean all of your surfaces. This way, your home is fresh and ready for the holiday decor. A dust-free home will give you peace of mind once you start having lots of guests over. It’s time to break out the fall decor! Put your spring/summer looks away and get ready for the spookiest (and frankly most VIBRANT) time of year. A super fun way to add a little fall flair to your home is by painting an accent wall or finding a temporary wallpaper. This will add a cool contemporary mood change in your space. Are you daring enough? Now bring on the holidays!
